Eco Responsibility at Valentines Dive Center

Protecting What We Love: The Reefs, the Ocean, and the Future

At Valentines Dive Center, our love for the ocean goes beyond exploration — it drives everything we do. We’re committed to sustainable tourism and reef preservation in the Bahamas, and we actively support efforts to protect and restore the vibrant marine ecosystems that make Harbour Island so special.

Reef Rescue Network Partner

In June 2019, Valentines Dive Center joined the Reef Rescue Network, managed by the Perry Institute for Marine Science, to help restore critically endangered corals and rebuild reef habitats.

Thanks to the support of Valentines Resort and our dive team, we’ve:

  • Established a coral nursery near one of our dive sites
  • Maintain and monitor the nursery on a monthly basis
  • Prepare to transplant healthy coral to nearby damaged reef systems in hopes of regenerating marine biodiversity

Our goal is simple: to leave the ocean healthier than we found it.

Everyday Sustainability

We believe small choices can lead to big changes. That’s why we’ve adopted eco-conscious practices throughout our business:

  • Apparel made from recycled materials
  • Paper cups and packaging sourced from post-consumer waste
  • Bulk purchasing and refillable containers to reduce plastic use
  • Complimentary reusable shopping bags in our boutique
  • From what we wear to what we share — every effort counts.
